Do you have what it takes to win it all? The audience will decide.

The Soundspace Drummer Duel is an exciting competition for experienced drummers who are ready to showcase their skills at a unique event and compete for the title of top shredder in Music City. 

The competition will take place on June 3, 2023, at The Eastside Bowl from 5:00 - 10:30 PM.

 

How it works:

At the start of each round, competitors will be randomly matched to battle against each other. At the beginning of each battle, a set of two backing tracks will be randomly selected for the two drummers to perform individually. Performance duration is 10 minutes for each drummer, each round.  The format of the competition is as follows:

  1. Four beginning rounds with eight drummers and four winners

  2. One semi-final with four drummers and two winners

  3. One final with two drummers and one winner

 

How competitors will be chosen

ALL applicants will be considered by a committee comprised of pro drummers, promoters, and industry execs.  The committee will review all submissions and select 8 drummers to compete. The selection criteria will be based on technical skill, style, and performance. 

 

Winner selection process: 

Winners of each round will be crowd-selected, and the final winner of the competition will be awarded an amazing prize package.

  • The final champion will win :

  • A one-year membership to Soundspace Wedgewood

  • A one-year subscription at Studio Musician Academy

  • A Four-hour drum session at The Record Shop

  • Photo package from renowned drum photographer Mark Allee

  • Interview on The Nashville Drummers podcast + a personalized drum head

  • Exposure as a Soundspace Brand Ambassador

  • The Drummer Duel trophy




** To qualify for the competition, drummers must meet the following criteria: 

  • Must be 18 years old and a legal U.S. citizen to apply & compete

  • Have experience playing drums in live performances

  • Be able to improvise and create their own drum solos to provided tracks

  • Be able to perform a 10-minute solo drum performance without accompaniment

  • Be able to work well under live performance pressure

  • Be able to bring their own drumsticks and other necessary equipment

  • Be available for the entire duration of the competition
